MOVIES | RAISING ARIZONA

Raising Arizona (Coen, 1987)
My Rating: 9/10

I watched this movie for the first time last year and liked it a lot, but then kind of forgot about it. A week or two ago one scene in the movie kept running through my mind and I got a strong urge to watch it again. This is the kind of movie where either you like it, or you don't. It's very funny but not a kind of humor that everyone will get.
In short, it's about an ex-cop (Holly Hunter) and an ex-convict (Nicholas Cage) who get married and discover they can't have children. Soon after they find out that the Arizona Quintuplets are born and decide to go steal one of the babies for their own. At first they think they're doing the right thing, but soon find out it might not have been.
It's seriously funny and all the actors play the characters so well. Give it a try!
Have you seen it before?

MUSIC | JACK WHITE

This should really be titled Jack White / The White Stripes / The Raconteurs. He is a part of all of those titles and more, and he is nothing short of perfection and a genius. He (and Bob Dylan) is my favorite person, and his music if amazing. Not only the great sound he produces in the White Stripes alongside Meg White, but also his solo album is sheer amazing-ness. And the lyrics he write are very Bob Dylan-esque.

Meg and Jack are pictured above, and I cannot express in words the love I have for these people. In a time where (in my opinion) music is lacking more and more, he really is a ray of light through it all.

Here are some songs (albums in parentheses) to give a listen:

I'm Shakin' (Blunderbuss)
Blunderbuss (Blunderbuss)
I'm Slowly Turning Into You (Icky Thump)
Conquest (Icky Thump)
Little Cream Soda (Icky Thump)
Hotel Yorba (White Blood Cells)
Fell In Love With a Girl (White Blood Cells)
The Union Forever (White Blood Cells)
This Protector (White Blood Cells)
Black Math (Elephant)
I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself (Elephant)
Consolers Of The Lonely (Consolers Of The Lonely)
Old Enough (Consolers Of The Lonely)
Many Shades of Black (Consolers Of The Lonely)

ROCK ON

rock on

1 / 2 / 3 / 4

I've been really into Fall style lately. Boots, scarves, oxfords, jean shirts, chunky sweaters, cute tees, and the like. Oh, and a big (almost embarrassing) Pinterest obsession has been taking place.
Along with that high school has been going great, I'm really liking it a lot.
How's your year been so far?

STYLE CRUSH | EMMA WATSON

(all images from google)

If I could switch bodies with anybody, it would be her. First off, she is stunning. Her style sense is perfect, and (hello!) she's British. I've only really seen her in Harry Potter, and I would love to see her in more films in the future. She's starring in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, which I know comes out soon. I still haven't read that book yet, I know a lot of people have. Have you? Are you excited for the film?
